The moribund reality...

India today, has a horrible and an ignominiously swollen belly. It carries in this shameful womb a national catastrophe (if things are left the way they are), of this I cannot believe anybody still cherishes the smallest doubt… Every reprehensible issue remains something other. The very fact that it remains shrouded in silence is uncanny enough. What more (proof), do the intellectuals and the common folk of this country need? Can this nation, stop fiddling and wake up to this macabre reality? Can it, face the ghoulish nature of its misled children without fidgeting? Can it? Will it? Oh! What a shame!!!

It is already uncanny when among a great host of the blind some few who have the use of their eyes must live with sealed lips. But it becomes sheer horror, so it seems to me, when everybody knows (what is wrong) but is bound to silence, while we read the truth from each other in eyes that stare or else shun a meeting.

India ... today, clung round by demons, a hand over one eye, with the other staring into horrors, down she flings from despair to despair. When will she reach the bottom of the abyss? When, out of uttermost hopelessness --- a miracle beyond the power of belief --- will the light of hope dawn? A lonely man folds his hands and speaks: ``God be merciful to thy poor soul, my friend, my Motherland!''

@keshi: Yes, it was because Rajiv Gandhi thought it was a good idea to meddle in the internal affairs of another country. Same way his mom thought, it was ok to create a separatist force in punjab to counter the growing power of Akalis.

If you wanna read, there is a good post at:

hey hemanth, nice post and yes the reality though it stares us in our face fails to go deep enough. We see, shrug and move on and thats the saddest part of it all.

Yes, that is exactly why I made this post. To get people atleast talking a little bit.

@nimis540: Welcome, to my blog :)

Hmm..to put it in a few simple words, "It's time for action, we cannot sit around and hope against hope that things will take a turn for the better on their own".

@Nice post. And now the same Congress is encouraging Raj Thakre to counter Shiv Sena. It suits them to have all minorities insecure. We need massive awareness caimpaigns and a clause to right "NONE OF THE ABOVE" when we vote.

oop I meant we should have the right to 'write' 'NONE OF THE ABOVE'.

okay, this is so dark and grim . . .
now look out the window and it is not so bad after all.

i too go around bashing indians and lamenting the utter rot, but then, we can make a difference

look at the Teach India Campaign by TOI . . . the sheer number of volunteers is enough proof that many of us are willing to change things . . . just that we don't have a common platform or a clean political party to represent us . . .

start a movement . . .

Sorry for late reply..

Yes,i agree 101% to that thought..Its high time to stop pointing fingers and do something of our own as to make a positive change..But personally,i don't know how to..Like,it would like to impart more technical knowledge to people in my locality, and maybe give some some RIGHT spiritual information and like..But me bing a girl,err...woman lol ...I am not very sure of how to put my thoughts into actions..Maybe i can join if somebody starts it..But the issue it that almost off people out there are waiting for somebody else to start..What a dilemma..

Dropped in from Pinku's blog. Lovely article...thanks for puting it up..I guess we could start with politicians putting an end to caste politics in our country.

@oreen: I agree..we can make a difference. But, until we do find a common platform or a party that will represent our cause and talk about seriously changing the country and the dynamics in which we live in we shall try and do what little we can; by posting stuff on blogs, volunteering in educating people and in general setting a good example for the kids.

@nimis540: You don't have to do something big, just start with small things. Educate people or discuss with your friends. Tell them what you feel, get them to talk, discuss and in general spread the word.

@pinku: Aye! Aye! mam. Will do!

@Akshaya Kamalnath: Thanks for dropping by and yes, getting the politicians to put a stop to caste based reservations would be a good step. But, the question is: "Are we ready for it yet?"
